School education with a Cross-cutting issue of an Environmental Education (CCIEE) through a combined program in school or outside of school with usage of multimedia and mobile technologies.

Environmental education might be realized through games

The purpose of ENVI GAME project  is to create education programs for practical realization of a Cross-cutting issue of an Environmental Education (CCIEE). The education programs will include packages of games and methodical tools which will be used in wide range of subjects such as Geography, Biology, or History. The CCIEE education will combine working outside the classroom with activities performed on the computer inside the classroom. Moreover, children will be able to use smarthphones with GPS system which will enable them to play the game through this internet platform and will improve communication with other classmates. This project will include 10 class teams from elementary schools from variety of regions in the Czech Republic. This counts for about 250 students who will be able to test these games in the first run.

The project contains 7 educational programs which focuse on cross-cutting issues, such as Environment, Man and his relationship towards the neighbourhood etc. The individual teams will map the regions according to their biodiversity of species and ecosystem, cultural and historical heritage, natural resources use, health and life style. The Research Institute of Education in Prague and the civic association Club of Ecological Education will be taking part in a preparation of a methodology which will include practical examples of educational programs. The information about these products’ usage will be spread to other schools in the Czech Republic by  educational seminars in all regions.

The project is executed by Cross Czech a. s. with the help of two partners – Club of Ecological Education, o.s. and The Research Institute of Education in Prague. The project was launched in  October 2009 and will last for 36 months.
